Possession of Arms and Ammunition .

Article 1.

Do hereby proclaim

Cancellation of Licences for Arms.

All licences permits or other authorisations for the keeping,

carrying or sale of arms and ammunition whether granted before or

during the Japanese occupation are hereby cancelled.

Article 2.

PENALTY FOR UNAUTHORISED POSSESSION OF ARMS.

Save as hereinafter provided any person in possession or control

of arms or ammunition as defined by the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance,

1933, shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction by the

Standing Military Court be punishable with imprisonment for a term not

exceeding ten years or with a fine not exceeding $ 10,000 or with both.

Article 3.

EXEMPTIONS

The provisions of article 2 shall not apply to a) a person

exempted under the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance, 1933, as hereinafter

modified; or b/ to any person who with due despatch delivers such arms

or ammunition to the officer-in-charge of the nearest police station;

or c/ to any person in possession of a valid licence or authorisation

hereinafter granted under the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance, 1933, as

hereinafter modified.

Article 4.

APPLICATION OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION ORDINANCE,1933.

During the continuance of the British Military Administration

the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance 1933, shall be applied with the

B. There is hereby substituted for the first three paragraphs of

sub-section (2) (d) the following paragraphs

(1) The Forces of His Britannic Majesty and the Hong Kong Police Force.

(ii) The Forces of the Allies, while in uniform.

(iii) Any class of persons exempted by the C.C.A.0.

C.

Sections 10-14 inclusive and such other sections as the C.C.A.O

may by notice in the Gazette specify shall not apply to the Forces of

His Britannic Majesty.
